Golden Gate Park and the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco.

I had the opportunity to shoot the new Chinese Garden at The Huntington Library – for Westways magazine. They needed three different covers for their Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego issues plus images for the feature story inside. I really enjoy shooting gardens and felt very excited they chose me to shoot the story. The garden was magical – I arrived very early in the morning and got so go on a day the garden was closed to the public. I had the place almost to myself besides a few gardeners I could hear in the distance.

I met Vanessa while working in an Architectural firm in San Francisco. When I started I was the third Vanessa in the office. We became fast friends enjoying our joint love of food, wondering why we were wearing turtlenecks in summer and walks to the near by park for lunch. She has a wonderful house with a beautiful garden in Oakland, CA. While visiting I was able to capture a few portraits of a family friends daughter and her son. It was a delightful afternoon.
